Pahalgam, Jan 02 (KNO): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that events like Pahalgam winter carnival keep Kashmir vibrant round the year.
Speaking to reporters here in South Kashmir, Omar, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that such kinds of festivals are a must to keep Kashmir vibrant as a tourist destination.
He said that the beginning has been made from Pahalgam and the suit will follow in Gulmarg, Sonamarg and other places.
He added that efforts are being made for tourism enhancement along with infrastructure development and cultural initiatives across all tourist destinations of Jammu and Kashmir.
When asked about the MP Aga Ruhullah Mehdi's statement about restoring Article 370 is more important than restoration of statehood, Omar said that he is working for the welfare of the people and he hasn't seen his statement yet.
While replying to allegations of BJP that NC government has failed to keep their promises, the Chief Minister said that BJP has failed in recent elections and they must accept their failure before framing a report card from our government—(KNO)
